Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 1,300,000-square-foot, 12-story above grade, 469-bed medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.

The Project is to be delivered under the design, build, finance, maintain P3 model. Scope includes the consolidation of three existing facilities (Greater Niagara General Site, Port Colborne Site and Douglas Memorial Site, as well as select services from Welland County Hospital) into one facility. Construction of a hospital which will be built at the corner of Montrose and Biggar Roads in Niagara Falls. The 12-storey building will hold 469 single patient bedrooms, eight operating suites, 42 hemodialysis stations and two MRI machines. It will offer a full scope of hospital services, including emergency, critical care, diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical services. The hospital will also feature an Indigenous healing space and garden that was designed with input from our Indigenous partners. It will also be the first WELL-certified hospital in Canada, a system that measures the features of a building that impacts the health and well-being of hospital users, including staff. The facility has been designed to meet the growing needs of Niagara's aging population, featuring centres of excellence in complex care, wellness in aging and stroke. TIMELINE: Ground Breaking Ceremony has recently taken place. Site address has yet to be finalized; intersection is Montrose and Biggar Roads. Sequential tendering process is underway for the sub trades as the design development continues. Sub trades are being secured through an ongoing competitive process to prequalified trades only; awarded trades may be released early 2024.
