Renovation of a municipal facility in Ottawa, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of an office development.
The second phase of the project will address the work remaining pending completion of Phase 1 which is followed separately. Phase 2 of the East Block rehabilitation project includes: addressing the exterior work that was not completed in phase 1, including the 1910 wing. Completing the seismic upgrade for the entire building & linking the building with the Visitor Welcome Centre. Replacing the outdated mechanical, electrical and safety systems & upgrading the building to meet modern building codes and the needs of the Senate. The building will be vacated during Phase 2. Budget has not yet been determined. TIMELINE: The owner is assessing options for the full rehabilitation of the East Block. Design contracts will be awarded once the assessment portion of phase 2 has been completed. The budget for this phase will be established once the assessment has been completed.
