Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Edmonton, Alberta. Design plans call for the construction of a 62,000-square-foot, two-story above grade swimming pool; and fitness / recreation center.
Plans call for the renewal of the Rollie Miles Athletic Field District Park, located in the Queen Alexandra neighbourhood. Scope of work to include a new Rollie Miles Recreation Centre to serve as a replacement for Scona Pool and include an 8-lane pool, single court gymnasium, multipurpose room, fitness centre, and washrooms and storage to support exterior spaces including an outdoor skating loop. Scope of work includes the demolition of the existing Scona Pool. TIMELINE: Design is preliminary. Schedules for detailed design, tender and construction yet to be determined, pending funding (timelines unknown). Further update may be available in 2026, pending owner's capital plans. *The estimated overall construction budget is $30.4 million.
