New construction of a museum in Westmount, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 300,000-square-foot, 10-story above grade museum.
Construction of a new museum building on the parking lot located in the quadrilateral between the President Kennedy Avenue, De Maisonneuve Boulevard, and De Bleury and Jeanne Mance Streets to house the exhibition of the Large History Museum formed after the merger of the McCord, the Stewart Museum and the Fashion Museum. TIMELINE: The value of the museum construction project increased up to $200 million due to overall rising costs and inflation. The owner is carrying out a very rigorous analysis of the functional and technical plan and seeking funding. According to the owner's opinion the project will not proceed soon to a real design stage, construction completion being not anticipated before 2028-2029. Project will be followed if/when it proceeds to an active design stage. Coverage of this report has been discontinued.
