As of March 2, 2022, an engineer has been selected for the project. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to fiscal year 2026. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Minneapolis Department of Public Works (hereinafter referred to as the City) makes this Request for Proposals (hereinafter referred to as the RFP) in order to select a qualified Engineering Consulting Firm (hereinafter referred to as the Consultant) for providing Bridge Design Services related to the rehabilitation of the Nicollet Avenue Bridge over the Minnehaha Creek (Bridge No. 90591) (hereinafter called the Project)between East Minnehaha Parkway and 52nd Street W in Minneapolis. The Nicollet Avenue Bridge is an 818-foot long concrete open spandrel arch structure. The 62.3-foot wide bridge deck contains a 36-foot roadway (two-lanes automobile lanes and two seven-foot wide bicycle lanes, see Attachment E) and a 12-foot sidewalk on each side of the roadway. The proposed Project will address the ongoing deterioration of concrete areas on the spandrel columns, floor beams, arches, and bridge deck. The Project will also restore the historic structure and add 40 to 50 years to its useful life All questions are due no later than 4:00 PM (Minneapolis Time), June 11, 2021. Responses to the questions will be posted to the current event in the eSupplier Portal - Contracting Opportunities by June 16, 2021. The contracting parties will be the City of Minneapolis and the Consultant selected to provide the services as described herein. The selected proposal, along with the RFP and any counter proposal will be incorporated into a formal agreement after negotiations. It is the intent of the City to award a single contract for a term of three (3) years with the option to extend the contract, on an annual basis, at the sole option of the City, for one (1) additional year. The construction budget is estimated at $17,500,000 (excluding contingency, design and administration fees, City overhead and City-provided services). The Consultant shall consider this a "not to exceed budget" to implement a rehabilitation alternative that meets the program needs based upon this amount. The construction budget does not include the cost of the City provided services. The City, at its own discretion, may complete portions of the Project utilizing its own work forces
