Site work and paving for a road / highway in Richmond, Virginia. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway.
This project consists of preliminary engineering, right-of-way acquisition, and construction to relocate Route 5 along CSX rail line and installation of appropriate traffic control at the Nicholson Street intersection. It will re-configure the Williamsburg Avenue / Main Street intersection to facilitate the northbound movement of truck traffic. Project is included in the City of Richmond FY 2022-2026 CIP. As of April 11, 2024, per owner, a design team has been identified. Assuming favorable contractor bids, construction will begin late summer, likely September 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
