Renovation of a water / sewer project in Frederick, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The intent of this project is to study, engineer, purchase and install modifications for the failing Route 40 potable water booster pump station and evaluate the need for improvements to the Lester R Dingle potable water booster station/filtration facility. The existing stations are at the end of their useful life and need to be rehabilitated. In order to allow space for a full modernization of the Route 40 Station, a relocation will occur. Before the redesign occurs, a thorough study will be done, and the entire water system will be modelled. The project will include the following deliverables: Solicitation of an Engineer to design the recommendations from the RFP (FY23) Acquire all necessary permits Purchase of land or easements - Land Purchased in FY21 Solicitation of a Contractor to build the engineered repairs (FY25) Site restoration Project management (either in-house or procured) This project is included in the city’s fy 2026-2031 Capital Improvement Program. As of June 30, 2025, further details regarding construction and completion timelines have not been identified. Funding has not been allocated. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
