Cannion, acannion@cityofchesapeake.net, by 5:00 p.m., July 29, 2019. The Work under this Project consists of widening Mount Pleasant Road to accommodate a center turn lane. The widening will occur on the north side of the road from Beauregard Drive proceeding east for approximately 2,700 linear feet to the Coopers Ditch Bridge. Improvements will include pavement widening, installation of a 5-foot sidewalk along the north side of the road (and a small amount of roadway work on the south side), curb and gutter, storm drainage improvements, sanitary sewer betterments, water and sewer service adjustments, maintenance of traffic, pavement markings, and other related improvements. Bid Security in the amount of FIVE percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Each Bidder shall submit a letter of certification from their surety that an Erosion and Sediment Control Surety Bond in the amount of $ will be issued if the Bidder is awarded the contract. The Owner reserves the right to waive minor non-substantive informalities in the Bid, to reject any/or all Bids, to award any Bid in whole or in part and award the Bid considered to be in the best interest of the Owner. The Owner also reserves the right to negotiate with the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder should Bid exceed available funds by no more than 5%, in accordance with Chesapeake City Code Section 54-63(7).
