Renovation of a hospitality development in Niagara Falls, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 12-story above grade, 140-room hospitality development.

*A groundbreaking ceremony was held on December 16, 2019. The hotel will have 130 to 140 rooms, down from the hotel's original 191 rooms because the new rooms will be significantly larger. The USA Niagara Development Corporation (“USA Niagara”), a subsidiary of the New York State Urban Development Corporation, doing business as Empire State Development (“ESD”) is issuing a request for proposals (“RFP”) for qualified developers to purchase, restore/rehabilitate, and reuse a key historic building in downtown Niagara Falls, New York. The Hotel Niagara (the “Property”) is located at 201 Rainbow Boulevard at First Street, on “Centennial Circle”, one block from Niagara Falls State Park, which enjoys roughly 9 million annual visitors and is in the midst of a $70 million upgrade of its park facilities. When it opened in 1924, the Hotel Niagara was among the City’s finest lodging and banquet establishments, and it is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, making it eligible for both state/federal historic tax credits (which for a previously-proposed restoration at the Property were valued at a minimum of $5 million). Pursuant to Executive Law Article 15-A, ESD’s Non-Discrimination and Contractor & Supplier Diversity policies will apply to this contract.
