Imperial Irrigation District (IID), an irrigation district established under Division 11 of the California Water Code, Sections 20500 et seq., that provides non-potable water, farm drainage and power services to the lower southeastern portion of California's desert, is requesting proposals from highly qualified Respondents to: Provide all research, design, construct, testing, procurement, and transportation necessary to supply IID with twelve (12) new replacement radial gates of the California Sluiceway at Imperial Dam. •New gates construction will be based on drawings that IID will provide. Construction is not limited to these drawings, however. Respondent should provide means and method in their proposal to improve performance and sealing of the specified gate. •Contractor will prepare shop and as built drawings and provide them to IID in AutoCAD format. •All embedded metal sealing surfaces will be replaced or abraded to white metal and returned to as new profile using metal filled epoxy. Abrasive cleaning will be by sanding or abrasive blasting. No impact tools may be used. •New gates will be hot dip galvanized after construction but before installation of resilient sealing materials. All attachment hardware and miscellaneous components will be hot dip galvanized. No stainless steel will be permitted on this project. •Coating with thermally applied zinc metal spray will be considered as an alternate to hot dip galvanizing. •The expected time line for building and installing the gates is by the end of 2016. Only persons or firms possessing a current, valid type “C51” and “C60” California Contractor’s License will be considered for this work.
