Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Alexandria, Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 15,000-square-foot, two-story above grade fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

As of December 2024 this project has been complete since 2022. Only firms that have been pre-qualified in accordance with the procedures in the Pre-qualification Application will be eligible to submit bids for this project. Bids received from those who have not been pre-qualified will not be considered. Construction bids for this project are scheduled to be received in Spring 2019. The Woodlawn Fire Station is a new 15,000 SF, two-story, 4-apparatus bay facility, designed to satisfy LEED - silver requirements. There is an existing fire station that will remain in full operation until the completion and turnover of the new facility, after which the existing facility will be abated from all hazardous material and demolished. Scope of Work shall include construction of the new fire station and apparatus bays, site improvements consisting of grading, drainage, installation of storm water management facilities, utility installation, parking lot and access road and landscaping, to be followed by the demolition of the existing facility and site restoration. Work shall be phased to maintain continuous fire and rescue operations throughout the duration of the Project. The General Contract for this project is anticipated to be advertised for bid in April 2019 with bid opening in May 2019. The projected Contract Award date is planned for July 2019, with an anticipated construction start in August 2019. These are estimated dates and are subject to change. The cost for this project is estimated to be $6 to $7 million. All questions concerning this Prequalification shall be submitted in writing to the Director, Building Design and Construction Division, e-mail address buildincafairfaxcountv.qov, and to be given consideration, such requests must be received at least seven (7) calendar days prior to the deadline for submittal of the Pre- qualification Application indicated in Invitation to Apply for Pre-qualification. The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all Applications, and to wave informalities and irregularities in the Pre-qualification Application procedure. *This project has been updated for historical data and reference purposes.
