Site work and renovation of a municipal facility in Boca Raton, Florida. Design plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The City desires to have renovations and new buildings for the Public Safety Buildings as listed below. Based on site conditions, budgets and other factors, the City may elect to not proceed with all three project sites. Project Site 1 - Police/Fire Public Safety Building located at 6500 Congress Avenue The Police/Fire Safety Building located at 6500 Congress Avenue is approximately 8.94 acres with an approximate 115,000 square foot building. The original building was constructed by the Sony Corporation in 1982 and bought by the City of Boca Raton in 2002. In 2005 the City hardened the building to 140 MPH and constructed training areas, an auditorium and fire support facility. In 2011 a forensic lab and strategic operations area was constructed. In 2016, the public safety information management system was incorporated along with the 911 dispatch center. The Boca Raton Police Department will use the facility located at 6500 Congress Avenue for the functional work space, staging area, storage and security for approximately 100 employees and resources associated with the special operations section including but not limited to specialty resource teams such as SWAT, EOD, Dive, Marine, Motor, THI units and crime lab. Project Site 2 - Fire Arm Range/Training Center The current firing range location, located at 100 NW 2nd Avenue can no longer handle the needs of the Department and requires an expansion. The current location is still in use and the City intends on maintaining the current location until a new stand-alone range and training center is built. The anticipated location for this facility is a piece of property in the Countess Dehornle Park area. The City will rely on the Consultant's recommendations in determining if the vehicle training track will be part of this project. Project Site 3 - Existing Police Headquarters/Operations Building located at 100 NW 2nd Avenue This facility was constructed in the 1980's and is in need of updating. The project is included in the City of Boca Raton's 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of December 28, 2022, a designer has been selected, but further details regarding design and construction have not been identified.* *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
