New construction of a mixed-use development in Mississauga, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a transportation facility; and parking garage.
Development of the southeast parking lot adjacent to the Port Credit GO station. Proposed is redevelopment of surface parking into structured parking integrated with development, high quality connections to a future Hurontario LRT, and improved connections to the surrounding areas. TIMELINE: The consultant has completed a Master Plan for the site. An Advisory Panel has been established to review and lead the study process and coordinated with the city of Mississauga. A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process was completed in the spring of 2015 and three development teams were pre-qualified. The Prequalification was subsequently cancelled without being awarded. Metrolinx is currently working with the City of Mississauga to plan the strategic development and construction of the Port Credit mobility hub that includes the Parking Infrastructure and Transit Oriented Development, accessibility improvement and rehabilitation works at the Port Credit GO rail station and integration with the Hurontario LRT station - followed separately. Metrolinx regularly works with municipal partners throughout the planning process to support shared transit needs. Further scope of work is undetermined until a developer is secured for the site.
