Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in La Porte, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
As of 5/22/19, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established The City of La Porte has all-inclusive total project budget of $350,000 for the design build project. Five Points Park is now at the center of the City’s entertainment and tourism efforts. The park has evolved from a commerce center to an entertainment and recreation hub hosting events such as Christmas on Main, Mardi Gras, farmer’s markets, outdoor movie nights, company picnics, weddings and family reunions, and small scale musical events. The lot adjacent to Five Points Park and immediately to the east (16,625 square feet, also) will be combined with the existing venue when the City re-plats into a single 33,250 square foot lot. The improvements are to be made about where the property line formerly existed. The re-platting and the removal of the existing building and parking lot (on adjacent lot) will be accomplished by others, outside of this project scope and prior to commencement of this project
