Renovation of an educational facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 60,000-square-foot educational facility.

This project involves the renovations of two levels from a shelled state to new laboratories as well as ceilings and lighting within the various levels of the Atrium inclusive of the addition of two new boardrooms on Levels 4 & 5 at the West end of the Atrium. The new labs on Levels 3 & 4 are a variety of wet and dry labs. Wet labs will have new fume hoods and limited casework. Dry labs will not have fume hoods or casework but will be include general exhaust in each Dry lab. Along the South side of both levels 3 & 4 will be a grad student area, furniture within the Grad student area is not in contract. This project has a major mechanical scope of work within the Level 7 mechanical room. There will be demolition of existing exhaust fans and installation of new fan wall exhaust systems. Also included in the mechanical room will be the retrofit of the existing supply air fans with new SA fan walls retrofitted into the existing SA plenums. This facility is fully occupied on all levels outside of levels 3 & 4, due to the extensive mechanical scope of work; general Contractors will be required to have a competent full time mechanical and Electrical coordinator. This project is funded from two sources, one funding source will be solely designated to the SA fan retrofits, therefore the contractor will be required to identify the costs associated with the SA retrofit separately on their monthly progress claims to allow the University to track SA retrofit costs.
