Demolition, site work, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. Working plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; and for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project calls for phased construction throughout the district. As of February 24, 2023, phase 2 has been awarded and is in construction. Timelines for general contractor selection and construction for the various other phases have not been finalized. The initiative will take a total of 10 years to complete. A phased breakdown is provided below (scope is subject to change): Phase 2: Includes opening a school at the Fairview Elementary School site that will serve 7th and 8th grade students; opening a school at the Allen Middle School site that will serve 5th and 6th grade students; and the closing of New Cumberland Middle School. Estimated Construction Cost: $63.4 million. Phase 3: Includes opening a school at Fish Creek that will serve K-4th grade students. Estimated Construction Cost: $21.1 million. Phase 4: Includes opening a school at Newberry that will serve K-4th grade students. Estimated Construction Cost: $21.6 million. Phase 5: Includes the renovation of Cedar Cliff and Red Land. Estimated Construction Cost: $30.6 million. Phase 6: Includes the renovation of Crossroads and Red Mill. Estimated Construction Cost: $23.5 million. Phase 7: Includes the renovation of Highland, Washington Heights, and Hillside Schools. Estimated Construction Cost: $14.1 million.
