Renovation of a municipal facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Alberta Infrastructure is proceeding with the multi-phased renovation of 15 floors at the Commerce Place building, located at 10155 - 102 Street NW in Edmonton. The spaces leased by the Government of Alberta (GoA) in Commerce Place no longer meet the workplace requirements of the ministries and user groups, and the densification will provide the opportunity to consolidate groups into a single location, increase space utilization efficiencies and accommodate future growth. In addition, the renovation will bring the spaces to the evolving GoA standards and improve staff collaboration and productivity. The scope of this Request for Qualification (RFQ) is for the construction of Phase 3A (three floors) and Phase 3B (two floors). To date, Phase 1 (one floor) and Phase 2 (three floors) have been completed. The previously completed floors will establish the overall quality and aesthetics, fit/finish for subsequent phases. The anticipated scope of work will include complete demolition of existing tenant space partitions and finishes to suit the new design, excluding the base building ceiling and lighting. Renovations will also include upgrades to the mechanical, electrical and fire alarm systems. The successful Bidder (Contractor) will coordinate construction sequencing for the install of GoA procured systems and loose furniture with the Infrastructure Project Manager and GoA furniture vendors (suppliers). The project delivery method will be Design-Bid-Build (DBB). The estimated total value of the construction contract is $4.2 Million for Phase 3A (three floors) and $2.8 Million for Phase 3B (two floors).
