The project contains two major bridge portions: Pelican Creek Bridge replacement: 1,483 foot, 9 span weathering steel girder superstructure with cast in place concrete deck, deep foundation (open ended steel pipe piles), structural steel fabrication/erection, structural concrete, reinforcing steel, bridge rail. The work includes the removal of the Existing Bridge and road embankment material of the causeway. Fishing Bridge Rehabilitation: removal of asphalt wearing surface, install Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) bridge deck panels, excavate and backfill west approach with Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil (GRS), repair abutment, and install FRP jackets on timber piles.
