Site work and new construction of a detention facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a two-story above grade, 345-bed detention facility; and for site work for a detention facility.
Construction of the new Thunder Bay Correctional Complex. Features include 345 beds, multi-use programming spaces, yard space and a cultural yard, programming and educational opportunities. It will improve access to programming, living conditions and education, while also updating automation and technology. The correctional complex will be designed to meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification, with a focus on energy efficiency, healthy indoor environments and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. TIMELINE: Ground has officially broken. Sub trades are being secured through a prequalified process. Construction is expected to be complete fall 2026. *EllisDon Infrastructure Justice has been awarded to design, build, finance, and maintain the Thunder Bay Correctional Complex project. *The EllisDon Infrastructure Justice team includes: Developer EllisDon Capital Inc. Design-Builder: EllisDon Corporation Design Team: Zeidler Architecture Inc. and DLR Group Inc. Facilities Management: EllisDon Facilities Services Inc. Financial Advisor: EllisDon Capital Inc. *The total project value is $I.2 billion.
