Boothbay Park is a park that draws users for a wide variety of activities. This renovation project includes the design and installation of a new universal design playground that will allow for all children to experience the same play activity together. It will also incorporate the addition of a new covered picnic shelter area that will be home to several reservable picnic sites with new accessible furnishings and barbecue space. The renovation will include a destination playground that is inclusive, multigenerational, with spaces designed to promote community engagement for all users within the parks system. Funding in the amount of $2,050,000 will be available from the Park-in-Lieu fund and $110,000 will be available in the Equipment Replacement Fund, with the remainder coming from CIP City fund. The project is included in the City of Foster City's FY 2021-2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of October 4, 2023, design and construction is anticipated in FY 2027-2028.
