Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Completed plans call for the construction of a 183,750-square-foot, 96-bed medical facility.
The project is identified as having a total of approximately 918,750 Gross Square Feet of new space, Type I Occupancy, with approximately 183,750 Gross Square Feet of supporting Type B Occupancy. This project will include complete emergency medical services, imaging, operating rooms, up to 406 patient care rooms, diagnostic and testing facilities, specialty clinics, laboratory and other patient care support facilities. Also included are exam rooms, storage rooms, offices, conference rooms, staff, and student and physician support spaces. The project includes a central utility plant, central materials handling and distribution center and an IT data center. Design considerations must include provisions for a scope to be implemented in phases, as identified in the Program Planning Documents. Accordingly, a portion of the scope may be removed and deferred to a future phase. The entire project will be designed and executed as a “LEED Silver” certified facility. The Project may utilize the “CM/GM” or “CMAR” delivery method. As of October 30, 2020, a joint venture Construction Manager at Risk has been selected, phase 1 has begun. Attempts to obtain more information from the general contractors are underway.
