Site work, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Gilmer, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a 129,500-square-foot educational facility; and for the renovation of a office development.
The project consists of a new high school built on an existing high school campus. Coordination of construction is required with on-going school operations and existing buildings remaining in-use during the construction process (review the project staging plan with listed phases as addressed on the drawings). Site construction consists of general earthwork, building pad engineered fill installation, new storm drainage, new site/building utilities, concrete paving, asphaltic concrete paving, concrete sidewalks, concrete curb and gutter, landscaping, irrigation, site pavilion, site masonry walls, concrete site walls, site metal walls, site graphics, site lighting, pre-engineered freestanding canopies, pre-engineered wall mounted canopies, custom canopies, decorative fencing with gates, and vinyl coated chain link fencing with gates.Building construction for the CTE building area is a concrete foundation, concrete slab-on-grade, pre-engineered metal building, masonry veneer, metal panel veneer/trim, metal panel soffits/trim, truncated standing seam metal roof as specified/detailed, concrete masonry units, drywall partitions, millwork, hollow metal frames/doors, wood doors, aluminum entrance systems, building accessories as specified/detailed, welding booths as detailed, vinyl coated chain link fencing,and building plumbing/electrical/mechanical/fire protection systems. This building area is type 2B construction and does not have installed fireproofing. Finishes include sealed concrete, rubber base, painted concrete masonry, textured/painted drywall, painted flooring system, ceramic tile floor/wall, luxury vinyl tile, suspended acoustical ceiling, and exposed painted ceiling. Building construction for the balance of the high school other than the designated CTE area is a concrete foundation, concrete slab-on-grade, convention designed structural steel building system,composite slab for second story floor structure, masonry veneer, metal panel veneer/trim, metal panel soffits/trim, single play PVC adhered roof as specified/detailed, concrete masonry units, drywall partitions, millwork, hollow metal frames/doors, wood doors, aluminum storefront entrance systems, aluminum curtain wall entrance systems, building accessories as specified/detailed, kitchen and culinary equipment provision/ installation, theatre equipment provision/ installation, spray applied fireproofing, and building plumbing/ electrical/ mechanical/ fire protection systems. This building area is type 1B construction and is protected structure by using installed fireproofing. Finishes include sealed concrete, stain concrete, rubber base, painted concrete masonry, textured/painted drywall, painted flooring system, ceramic tile floor/wall, face brick, luxury vinyl tile, suspended acoustical ceiling, and exposed painted ceiling. General Contractor Proposersare invited to submit qualifications for approval to submit a competitive sealed proposalon this project to the Office of the Architect, Thacker | Davis Architects, attention Mr. Brice J. Davis, AIA, at the address listed above. Potential Proposersare required to prequalify through the Office of the Architect for the approval of the Owner, no later than seven(7) days prior to submission of Bids. Utilize and formally submit one (1) fully executed and current AIA Document A305 (latest edition) -Contractor’s Qualification Statement. If necessary, AIA document A305 may be purchased at the Office of the Architect (903/236-3771).
