Reference Number 0000366931 The Ann Arbor Fire Station 4 project is a 12,000 square foot, 2-story, fire station construction project to replace the existing outdated facility. The Ann Arbor Fire Station 4 project includes demolition work and has been designed to achieve a net zero energy consumption rating calculated on an annualized basis. Under this basis of calculation, the goal of this project is that the building would supply more energy than it would consume within a given year. A photovoltaic array on the roof of the building will generate electrical energy and the excess would be supplied to the electrical grid. The building will be fully electrified. Energy consumption will be reduced using ground source heat pumps tied to a geothermal field and an efficient building envelope.
