The purpose of this project is to mitigate issues associated with settlement in the area of the former Harbor Siphons project on Jones Island. Thawing of a freeze wall installed on Jones Island to facilitate construction of the Harbor Siphons project (C07010) is expected to be ongoing for the next 20+ years. Thawing of the freeze wall is causing settlement of District assets in the immediate project area and beyond. The scope of this project is to mitigate settlement issues as they arise. This includes mitigating electrical duct bank settlement issues as well as additional funding to mitigate as of yet unknown asset settlement which is expected to occur in the future. There is no change in total project cost. Operating budget impact is unknown at this time. As of June 8, 2022, this project is no longer being covered. This project is included in the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District FY 2021-2026 CIP. Information regarding design firm and general contractor selection timeline has not been released.
