Safety Goal: Decrease violence and self-harm and keep both inmates and staff safe. Aesthetic Goal: Create an environment that is more humanized and therapeutic. With the intention of departing from a sterile and institutional environment and creating a safe correctional setting that makes use of comfort, color, art, and landscaping for a more normalized environment to benefit both residents and staff. project will have many components that will be phased, as outlined in subsequent pages. Plan, design, renovate, construct and equip improvements to the Youth Service Center facility. Current procurement procedures will be followed. As September 21, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2024 Budget. Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction FY 2023-24. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2023-24. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
