The Parks and Recreation Master Plan identified improvements at the Malley Recreation Center as a top priority. At the community budget workshop at the Center in June, participants again voiced their support for changes and improvements. These include a reconfiguration of the entrance and the billiard and card table area on the south side to meet the changing needs of members by providing more activity rooms and program space. Upgrades to physical therapy areas, a coffee bar or snack bar, and additional technology have also been requested. These improvements will enable the Malley Center to attract new participants, increasing utilization and revenue while keeping member costs affordable for our citizens. As of February 24, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2026 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2024. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
