Renovation of a mixed-use development in Fairfield, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 9,500-square-foot office development.
We only received one bid for Tolenas - so we are re-bidding the project. Project consists of the enlargement of the waiting area in the administration building, modernization of spaces within the Resource Center Building, and the addition of a shade structure near the outdoor play area. Project will also include modifications to existing mechanical systems and related site work as indicated in the construction documents. Last day to submit RFI's is by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2018. All RFI's should be submitted to Rachel Dula racheld@fsusd.org and Amanda Rish at amandari@fsusd.org. Any claim by a bidder of error in its bid must be made in compliance with section 5100 et seq. of the Public Contract Code. Any bid that is submitted after this time shall be non-responsive and returned to the bidder. All bids shall be on the form provided by the District. Each bid must conform and be responsive to all pertinent Contract Documents, including, but not limited to, the Instructions to Bidders. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to possess one or more of the following State of California Contractor Licenses: A (General Engineering) or B (General Building) The Bidder's license(s) and Department of Industrial Relations registration must be active and in good standing at the time of the bid opening and must remain so throughout the term of the Contract The successful Bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors shall pay all workers on the Project not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, State of California, for the type of work performed and the locality in which the work is to be performed within the boundaries of the District, pursuant to sections 1770 et seq. of the California Labor Code. Bidders and Bidders' subcontractors shall comply with the registration and qualification requirements pursuant to sections 1725.5 and 1771.1 of the California Labor Code. The District, the District's designee and/or the California Department of Industrial Relations will be operating a labor compliance program on this Project pursuant to Labor Code section 1771, et seq. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to have been prequalified by the District. In addition, all subcontractors with the following license classifications that intend to bid as a first-tier subcontractor to a general contractor (prime contractor) that is bidding directly to the District are required to have been prequalified by the District: C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and/or C-46. All prequalification questionnaires will be received until 4:00 p.m., February 22, 2018 The Governing Board has obtained from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft, classifications or type of worker needed to execute the Contract, including employer payments for health and welfare, pension, vacation, apprenticeship and similar purposes. Copies of the prevailing rates are on file at the District office and shall be made available to any interested party upon request. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the Contract is awarded, and upon any Subcontractor under the Contractor, to pay not less than the specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the Contract. It is the Contractor's responsibility to determine any rate change, which may have or will occur during the intervening period between each issuance of written rates by the Director of Industrial Relations. The substitution of appropriate securities in lieu of retention amounts from progress payments in accordance with Public Contract Code section 22300 is permitted. Performance and Payment bonds will be required of the successful bidder. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening for bids except as provided pursuant to Public Contract Code section 5100, et seq. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. If the District awards the Contract, the security of unsuccessful bidder(s) shall be returned within sixty (60) days from the time the award is made. Unless otherwise required by law, no bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening. The District shall determine the low bid based upon the base bid plus alternate. The District reserves the right to award at its discretion the base bid, with or without any alternate, or to not award at all.
