Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in El Sobrante, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and 24,800-square-foot, two-story above grade fitness / recreation center.

**As of February 13, 2019, this project has not yet been awarded. It is expected to be awarded on 3/20/2019. Start date approximately 7 days after the award. The Project consists of: Seismic upgrades to an existing two story concrete gymnasium building and adjacent one story modular classroom building. Accessibility upgrades to the locker room restrooms. Site improvements include a new modular elevator to the second floor of the gymnasium building, an ADA ramp with guardrails and removal and replacement of concrete walkway. All bids shall be on the form provided by the District. Each bid must conform and be responsive to all pertinent Contract Documents, including, but not limited to, the Instructions to Bidders. Bid Form and Proposal, Bid Bond on the District's form or other security, Designated Subcontractors List, and Non-Collusion Declaration must accompany each bid and shall be submitted in a sealed envelope. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to possess one or more of the following State of California Contractor Licenses: B The Bidder's license(s) must be active and in good standing at the time of the bid opening and must remain so throughout the term of the Contract. As security for its Bid, each bidder shall provide with its Bid form: a bid bond issued by an admitted surety insurer on the form provid ed by the District, cash, or a cashier's check or a certified check, drawn to the order of the West Contra Costa Unified School District, in the amount of ten percent of the total bid price. This bid security shall be a guarantee that the Bidder shall, within seven (7) calendar days after the date of the Notice of Award, enter into a contract with the District for the performance of the services as stipulated in the bid. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Project. The successful Bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Contract Code. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors shall pay all workers on the Project not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, State of California, for the type of work performed and the locality in which the work is to be performed within the boundaries of the District, pursuant to sections 1770 et seq. of the California Labor Code. Prevailing wage rates are available from the District or on the Internet at: . Bidders and Bidders' subcontractors shall comply with the registration and qualification requirements pursuant to sections 1725.5 and 1771.1 of the California Labor Code. If this project is over $1,000,000, it will be implemented under District's Project Labor Agreement and will be subject to the District's Apprenticeship Resolution No. 80-0203. Prospective bidders are notified that as a condition of bidding to perform work on this Project, and in accordance with California Public Contract Code section 20111.6, the WCCUSD requires prequalification of prospective: (1) General Contractors; and (2) the following electrical, mechanical and plumbing subcontractors C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and/or C-46 license(s) that intends to bid as a general contractor (prime contractor) that is bidding directly to the District. All prequalification questionnaires will be received until March 23, 2018 by 2:00 p.m. at the District office, located at 1400 Marina Way South, Richmond CA 94804 Attn: Director Contracts Administration. The District's Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. If the District awards the Contract, the security of unsuccessful bidder(s) shall be returned within sixty (60) days from the time the award is made. Unless otherwise required by law, no bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening. The District shall award the Contract, if it awards it at all, to the lowest responsive responsible bidder based on: the Total Base Bid plus the sum of all Alternates.
