This Request for Tender (RFT) is an invitation by Toronto Public Library (the Library) to pre-qualified general contractors, from 139-23-TPL-RFSQ PREQUALIFICATION OF GENERAL CONTRACTORS FOR DAWES ROAD LIBRARY, to submit bids for the provision of Dawes Road Library New Construction, as further described in Part 2 - The Deliverables (the Deliverables). The Project involves the demolition of the existing 6,740 square foot (626 square metre) building and the construction of a new 17,000 square foot (1,580 square metre) library and a 5,000 square foot (465 square metre) community hub. An eight (8) unit condominium above the existing library will also be demolished as part of the Project. The new building will be three-storey plus basement, providing the community a joint facility housing a library and community hub with enhanced amenities and services. The construction is valued at approximately $25,000,000 including contingencies.
