The city and Northwest Consultants, Inc. have reviewed options with stakeholders and gathered feedback via neighborhood surveys and public meetings over the last several months. The city has decided to move forward to the next stage of project development with Alternative No. 8, Downstream Storage. This alternative has several benefits: - Improved conveyance of storm water from the Snyder-Edgewood Avenues intersection; - Storage of approximately 122,00 ft3 of storm water; - Reduced construction impacts within the neighborhood; - Elimination of ponding in the Snyder-Edgewood Avenues intersection for the 12-hr, 10-year design storm; - The most impactful construction will occur outside of the neighborhood itself, and, - Lowest estimated construction cost of the alternatives considered. As of April 5, 2024, a firm bidding and construction timeline has not been confirmed. The following things need to be done to move the project forward: Neighborhood Walkthrough and Resident Survey Public Meetings - disseminate updates and gather feedback Topographic Survey and Right-of-way Establishment Geotechnical Investigations Utility Coordination Hydraulic Analysis and Modeling Preparation of 30% Preliminary Plans with recommendations
