C-65.1, r.3) and established at 10% of the value of the Submission valid for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of opening of the Submission. Université du Québec à Montréal hereinafter named the Owner, having its headquarters at 1430, rue Saint-Denis, H2X 3J8, Montréal, Québec, request for tenders for the partial conservation and reconstruction of 1250, rue Sanguinet, the old school Alexandra, built in 1910. This building has to date been completely stripped from the inside. The exterior envelope, the structure (beams and columns floors), two staircases and three technical rooms have been preserved. The scope of work includes: demolition and dismantling of the majority of the building; the conservation and renovation of certain exterior walls, in particular the main facade, which has heritage value; the addition to the original volume of a partial basement, sub-works and plans for a connection to a future tunnel without contract; reconstruction of the steel and concrete structure; adding to the original two-story volume; exterior envelope work; the interior layout of all floors; occasional decontamination of asbestos and lead; environmental management of contaminated soils; related work in building mechanics and electricity as well as elevator mechanics, LEED v4.0 certification. The scope of work includes all development work, all demolition, protection, leveling and other work necessary for the complete completion of the Work and all related work such as site development and cleaning, temporary protection works, repairs and modifications to existing structures, work in areas not included in the structure but affected by it. All jointing, repair, drilling work required for the work herein is included. The work will be carried out in particular near a residential sector as well as occupied UQAM pavilions. The Contractor must act to minimize the inconvenience to users and residents. In the context of COVID-19, the Contractor must comply with the measures and directives of the CNESST, the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec, the Law on health and safety at work and all directives protection and prevention measures. The work will be carried out in particular near a residential sector as well as occupied UQAM pavilions. The Contractor must act to minimize the inconvenience to users and residents. In the context of COVID-19, the Contractor must comply with the measures and directives of the CNESST, the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec, the Law on health and safety at work and all directives protection and prevention measures. In accordance with the provisions of the Law on health and safety at work (LSST) and within the framework of this construction and renovation project in the same building, the Owner wishes to retain the presence of a single Contractor acting as Project Manager and assuming full responsibility and responsibility for the site in accordance with the laws and regulations in force. The Contractor will have full responsibility for controlling access to the site and the site. The Contractor will have full responsibility for security and temporary protection on site. In order to restrict travel, ensure social distancing and limit the exchange of material, UQAM strongly suggests that Bidders use the submission of a tender by electronic means. Filing a paper submission is more risky from the point of view of virus spread. The Tenderer must also provide delivery times by post or courier which are higher than normal times. It is his responsibility to take the necessary precautions in order to respect the deadline date and time for submitting a bid. A submission received by fax or email is not acceptable. The tenderer must transmit his tender electronically on site, by courier or in person to the above geographical address.
