Paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Quesnel, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; development; restaurant; multi-residential development; and retail development.
The Quesnel Waterfront Plan (QWP) establishes development plans for eight kilometres of riverfront land, a concept for Baker Creek Park, and recommendations for improved RV parking near the downtown area. The Plan includes recreational amenities, residential development opportunities, tourism and market opportunities such as boutique shopping, patio dining, and river recreation, and also features the Lhtako Dene Cultural Centre. The QWP is divided into four precincts, each with its own unique character and design responses: The Downtown Precinct, Railway Precinct, Quesnel River Precinct and West Village Precinct. The project will be phased in three phases within a 20-year horizon. TIMELINE: Individual design and construction projects within the Plan will be reported on incrementally as they are announced for planning and procurement. Completion of projects will depend on securing partnerships and availability of funding. Coverage is discontinued.
