Site work for a water / sewer project in Schefferville, Quebec. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Upgrades to the drinking water system to increase the capacity of the water treatment plant. Construction will include three lots: rehabilitation of the dam that controls the level of the drinking water source, upgrades of the drinking water plant and replacement of the wastewater treatment system. TIMELINE: Working drawings are close to completion. Project is included in the capital plan of the city of Schefferville for 2026-2028. Construction is expected to start in 2026. Tender and construction schedules will be determined at a later date. Further update in spring/early summer, 2026. Note: The Matimekush-Lac John community and the city of Schefferville have formed an intercommunity board to build and operate the infrastructure. The Board will therefore publish tender calls.
