Addition to a parking garage in Rockville, Maryland. Design plans call for the addition of a parking garage.
Plans call to replace the existing surface parking lot at the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station by expanding the existing 6-story, 1,484-space structured garage by 414-spaces, and reconfiguring the Arts Walk and Kiss & Ride. This project is the product of a joint development agreement between WMATA and Fivesquares Development for the redevelopment of the Property, adjacent to the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station. The first phase of redevelopment is to expand the existing parking garage to eventually replace the surface parking lot to free up the land for redevelopment. This first phase is addressed in this Mandatory Referral. Subsequent phases will address the larger redevelopment of the site and will undergo substantial regulatory review. As of March 11, 2022, this project is in review with the city and will be met on March 17, 2022.
