As of May 3, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. This project is included in the city's 2023-2025 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, funding is allotted to fiscal year 2024. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. This project will design and construct a one-story addition to the Cohalan Court Complex for a new Family Justice Center to host and consolidate available support services and legal agencies related to family violence cases. The space will combine various partnering agencies within a Courthouse setting including the District Attorney's Office, the Police Department, the Department of Social Services, the Probation Department, the Sheriff's Office and advocates representing the County's victims' services agencies. The Family Justice Center would provide an array of services for victims of family violence all under one roof. Currently, a typical victim of family violence must respond to multiple locations in order to obtain help which often leads to challenges and frustration. The proposed consolidation will enhance collaboration and improve coordinated efforts in support of the victims to end the violence and further criminal prosecution. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
