Demolition, site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Falls Church, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for the construction of a 13,800-square-foot, two-story above grade fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

Only firms that have been pre-qualified will be eligible to submit bids for this project The Seven Corners Fire Station project consists of demolishing an existing fire station facility and replacement with a new two-story, approximately 13,800 square foot fire station. This new facility will have a three-bay apparatus bay on an approximately 1.6- acre site. The station includes typical ancillary spaces for a fire station such as decontamination and ready-gear room, control room, administrative offices, fitness room, indoor and outdoor storage, dayroom, kitchen, and dining area, outdoor patio, hose tower, locker and showers for male and female staff, bunk rooms, and facility support spaces. Building systems shall include typical fire station functions such as airdestratification in the apparatus bay, vehicle exhaust evacuation, mechanical door operations, security systems/door hardware, fire alarm monitoring and fire suppression, one elevator, tone-alert systems, communication components, various reels, services, and floor-drains in the apparatus bay, and one slide-pole system. The exterior design of the facility incorporates a combination of brick and metal panel design. The structure will utilize flat rooftop areas with a parapet. The site will include surface parking and associated site improvements. The building will be delivered with solar-ready infrastructure on the roof. The project is mandated to achieve at minimum silver-level certification under the LEED Green Building Program. Complete demolition of the existing fire station including hazmat evaluation, abatement, removal and disposal is included in the construction scope Attendees shall abide by social distancing guidance provided by DPWES representatives during the bid opening. Please note that bidroom capacity rules will be respected and all those arriving to witness this event may not be allowed inside the bid-room. This event shall conclude immediately following the opening of the bid packages All bidders shall comply with Article A-21, Fairfax County Construction Safety Resolution. Bidders request for determination of eligibility to bid must be received by the County in accordance with provisions shown in Contract Section A, information For Bidders. All questions concerning the project, including bid period Requests for Information (RFI's), shall be electronically submitted in writing to the Director, Building Design and Construction Division, Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, e-mail address building@fairfaxcounty.gov, and, to be given consideration, must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of the bids. Bid period RFI's shall be submitted to the email address noted above using the RFI template/format incorporated into Contract Specification Division 1, Appendix A (Standard Project Forms). All bid period RFI submissions shall be accompanied by a properly filled Bid Period RFI Tracking Log also included in the bid documents posting as a standalone Excel file. This office is the only point where information will be disseminated Bid Security must accompany each proposal in accordance with Information for Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the opening thereof. The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the County
