Site work and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Lees Summit, Missouri. Design plans call for the construction of a 120,000-square-foot playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
In August 2016, Lee's Summit voters approved a continuation of the 1/4-cent sales tax for parks capital projects through 2033. One of the projects identified in the capital campaign was construction of an indoor field house for competitive and recreational sports and year-round training. Construction of a field house would be approximately 120,000 square feet. Final location to be determined. Project is included City of Lee's Summit Capital Improvement Plan, FY2025-2029. As of June 4, 2025, project is in planning/design June 2025-April 2026. Construction: May 2026-October 2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
