Site work and paving for a road / highway in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This project will provide for the widening of Seay Road in the Boiling Springs Area. Seay Road is approximately 1.5 miles in length and connects Hwy. 9 to Hanging Rock Road. The road is approximately 16 feet wide and is currently in very poor condition (average OCI of 37 as measured in 2015). There have recently been several larger residential developments along Seay Road and future development is anticipated. There are also three schools located immediately adjacent to Seay Road (Sugar Ridge Elementary, Boiling Springs Middle School, and Oakland Elementary School). This proposal includes widening the road to 24 feet to safely accommodate existing and future traffic needs. This project directly supports Council's strategic vision by being a core component of the County's infrastructure plan. The project also improves services provided to citizens by upgrading a roadway in a highly traveled corridor of the County. As of April 11, 2024, bids will advertise April 15, 2024. Bids will be let May 16, 2024.
