As of today January 29, 2019 project is awarded. he entire work is contained in the bid schedule(s) as shown in Section C - PROPOSAL. The work is generally described as follows and includes all other appurtenance work required by the plans and specifications: This work generally includes the full removal and replacement of portions of; existing ceiling, carpet, seating, doors; concrete, electrical, painting, lighting and interior finishes as required by the plans, Standard Specifications, and the Special Provisions. Following the issuance of the Notice to Proceed, the contractor will receive a 40-day procurement period followed by 45 calendar days for completion of all work. Each proposal must be accompanied by cash, a cashier's or certified check, or by a bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid price, made payable to the order of the City Clerk of the City of Montclair, as a guarantee that the bidder, if the award is made to him in accordance with the terms of his proposal, will promptly execute a contract in the required form, secure payment of workers' compensation insurance and furnish a satisfactory faithful performance bond and a payment bond. The faithful performance bond shall be in the sum of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the estimated aggregate amount of the payments to be made under the contract, computed on the basis of the prices stated in the proposal. The payment bond shall be in the sum of not less than one hundred percent (100%) (except as modified by the General Provisions) of the estimated aggregate amount of the payments to be made under the contract, computed on the basis of the prices stated in the proposal. In addition to the above and if requested by the city, the bidder shall furnish a financial statement of recent date. Failure to comply with this requirement will render a bid informal and shall be sufficient cause for rejection. At the request and expense of the Contractor, securities may be substituted for any monies withheld as performance security under a contract with the City as provided in Public Contract Code of California at Section 10263. Alternatively, the Contractor may request that the City pay performance retention into an escrow account to be administered by an escrow agent pursuant to an escrow agreement as set forth in Public Contract Code Section 10263 Bids shall be made in accordance with the prevailing hourly rate of per diem wages for this locality and project as determined by the Director of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1170 et seq., a copy of which is on file with the City Engineer at 5111 Benito Street in accordance with the provisions of Labor Code Section 1773.2 which prevailing hourly rates of wages is made a part of this notice by reference as though fully set forth herein. If the project requires employment of workers in any apprenticeable craft or trade, once awarded, the contractors or subcontractors must apply to the joint apprenticeship council unless already covered by local apprentice standards (Labor Code Section 1777.5). No proposal will be considered from a Contractor who is not licensed as a General "B" contractor, at time of bid, or to whom a proposal form has not been issued by the City of Montclair. Prior to being awarded the contract, thecontractor who is the apparent low bidder shall furnish verification of a current California contractor's license number to the City Engineer within two (2) working days after receiving a request for this information. No proposal will be considered from a Contractor or subcontractors, who is not registered to bid on Public Works Projects pursuant to Division 2, Part 7, Chapter 1 (commencing with section 1720) of the California Labor Code. OWNER'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The City Council of the City of Montclair reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, and to make awards as the interest of the city may require. This notice is given by order of the Council of the City of Montclair, California.
