This project begins the process to replace the Duette Rd bridge over the Manatee River. This structure is 60+/- years old. While it is still a very rural road with low traffic volumes, the importance of this road is critical to the economy of the area where the detour is 25 miles or more. The design process must take place first to determine construction as the alignment and construction method will greatly affect the cost. Past discussions and mining permits with Mosaic, there is a potential for a cost share. The design process will include the process to select the alignment and construction method. It must first be determined whether or not to attempt to smooth curve of the road. The process then determines if the road will be closed during construction or if some form of temporary staged construction or route will be used. The results of this project will provide biddable plans and a very accurate construction cost estimate. As of December 01, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2025. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
