The work to be performed shall include, but not be limited to: traffic signal conduit installation; traffic signal pull box replacements and new installations; traffic signal fiber optic interconnect installation; traffic signal twisted pair interconnect installation; new traffic signal controller installation; new signal cabinet installation on existing foundation; video detection system installation; ethernet switch installation; and other items not mentioned here, but are required by the Special Provisions. All contractors and subcontractors who plan to bid on a public works project when the project is for construction, alteration, demolition, installation, or repair work with a value exceeding $25,000.00 must first be registered and pay an annual fee with the DIR. Additionally, all contractors and subcontractors who plan to bid on public works projects involving maintenance work with a value exceeding $15,000.00 must first be registered and pay an annual fee with the DIR. The CITY requires all contractors and subcontractors to be registered with the DIR prior to submitting a bid meeting these parameters. Subject to the exceptions set forth in Labor Code Section 1725.5, bids from contractors that are not currently registered will be deemed nonresponsive.
