Renovation of a laboratory facility in Menlo Park, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.

Per the owner, as of April 14, 2022, this solicitation has been awarded and construction is on-going. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. .................. This project is for the delivery of two 6MW each cooling towers. The existing Cooling Tower (CT) 1701 has reached its end of life and represents a significant risk to SLAC science research, and other activities that require cooling tower water. The current facility was built in the mid-60s, it is in deteriorating condition and requires significant maintenance effort for its functioning. The existing cooling tower has 4 cells (A, B, C, D). The new replacement cooling tower at CT1701 will have 2 cells (6MW each) with cell D remaining operational for redundancy. The Cooling Tower (CT) Upgrades Project is an SLI GPP. The project will revitalize the cooling tower water supply for loops 1702 & 1703, and replace the oversized/failing existing CT1701 with a new cooling tower. The new system will have higher efficiency, lower cost of operation, and reduce water consumption. In addition, the project will retire approximately $1.8M in deferred maintenance. Evaluation Criteria Includes, but not limited to: Has the company previously worked at SLAC or a DOE Facility Similar projects currently working on Projects completed within the last calendar year Experience with Design-Build setup Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) for the last 3 years.
