Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Prince George, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a swimming pool; for site work for a swimming pool; and 40,080-square-foot, one-story above grade recreation facility.
Construction of a new aquatic facility to replace the Four Seasons Leisure Pool. Main features include: A six lane, 25-metre lap pool; A four lane, 25-metre teaching pool with warmer water and shallow depth; A leisure pool with a lazy river, beach entry, and play features; A large water slide with a run-off lane; Dedicated male and female change rooms and a large universal change room; Three barrier-free shower rooms with ceiling lifts; A sauna and stream room; Two classrooms; A comfortable viewing area. The pool will be built on the lot previously occupied by the Days Inn Hotel. The main entrance will be at 7th Avenue and Quebec Street. TIMELINE: Ground breaking has recently taken place. Site work and excavation is underway. The facility is expected to open late 2022. *Project is budgeted to cost $42 million: $35 million for the pool design and construction, as well as $7 million for the acquisition of the site and demolition operations. *Federal and provincial governments are providing $10 million in funding support from the Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Plan.
