Saving Project...

Site work and paving for a road / highway in East Los Angeles, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Plans call for three new bike paths along the I-70 Freeway. The project would create new east-west connections to improve access to local transit, residential communities and employment centers. The paths will help serve pedestrians and cyclists who live, work and travel within the I-710 corridor. The three bike paths under consideration are: Western Levee Bike Path – A 10-mile bike path from Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach to Imperial Highway in South Gate - $53 Million Compton Boulevard Bike Path – A two-mile bike path along Compton Boulevard in Compton connecting Martin Luther King Transit Center and the LA River - $15 Million Terminal Island to Rio Hondo Bike Path – A seven-mile bike path from Terminal Island Freeway in Long Beach to the Rio Hondo Bike Trail at Garfield Avenue in South Gate - $49 Million If this project becomes fully funded, it can be completed and in operation by 2028. Per the owner, as of September 19, 2023, A framework for the Draft Investment Plan will be shared with the Metro Board and the Community in November 2023. The owner states that a final plan will not be approved by the Metro Board until February 2024. *This project is included in the initial compilation of projects for consideration in Metro's Mobility Concept Plan in relation to the 2028 Olympics. This list has not been reviewed by the Games Mobility Executives. This project will continue to be updated as further information becomes available.
