The principal features of work to be performed under this contract include, but are not limited to, the installation of approximately 2,300 LF, new 2-inch, High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) raw water line and associated electrical conduit between existing Well 8 and the Fountaindale Water Treatment Plant (WTP), which will require, a blow-off valve, pavement repair, proper trench restoration and the installation of a new vault at Well 8. The project limits are shown on the Contract Drawings. Coordination of demolition and installation shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. Contractors and subcontractors that do not register will not receive notification of addenda; therefore, the county assumes no responsibility for the failure of non-registered entities to receive addenda. No bids will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or a treasurer's check drawn on a bank or a bid bond payable to Frederick County, Maryland, in the amount of 5 percent of the total bid price. In addition, the successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and also a Performance Bond in the full amount of the Contract Award. The successful bidder will be required to give bond and comply with the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland respecting Contracts. Frederick County, Maryland reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding.
