A groundbreaking took place on March 15, 2022. As of February 14, 2023, construction has been halted since May 2022 after the old school was demolished, due to a lawsuit. 2018 Bond - Measure MM - Del Mar Heights Elementary School Replacement Redesign and reconstruct the campus. This includes construction and/or reconstruction of classrooms, support buildings, campus administration facilities, and other buildings necessary for non-instructional purposes o Security/Safety Update/install security systems, access control, surveillance systems, exterior lighting, office reconfiguration, fencing, and fire alarm systems o Reconfigure and reconstruct drop off/pick-up areas and parking for improved traffic flow and student safety o Design, construct and install supporting facilities and infrastructure, including, but not limited to, roadways, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, parking, hardscape, interior and exterior lighting, and lighting controls o Make necessary site improvements including grading, infrastructure, and roadway access o Install solar energy and/or storage facilities o Install/replace shade structures o Repair or upgrade play structures/fields for improved student safety o Interior lighting and lighting controls o Improve landscape, drought tolerant materials, irrigation controls, and recycled water (where and as available) o Provide/install lunch service area o Provide/install covered student dining area *Project information, including timeline and contacts, has been obtained through public sources.
