As of 03/12/2019 The contract was awarded to Advance Construction, Inc for $1,481,466.00. Anticipated start date is early May, End date October 31st, 2019. As of 02/01/2019 It was approved by their Utility Committee January 22, but it will be awarded February 12th by the City of New Berlin Common Council to Advance Construction for the same amount. The end schedule date would be October 31st, 2019. As of 01/31/2019 Anticipated start date is early May. The Project consists of providing all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for construction of water distribution improvements. The major work items include approximately 50 linear feet of 12- inch water main, 4,475 linear feet of 8-inch diameter water main, 305 linear feet of 6-inch diameter water main, replacing water services, fire hydrants, valves, fittings, and associated street reconstruction work. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. The City of New Berlin reserves the right to retain the deposits of the three (3) lowest bidders for a period not to exceed 30 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 30 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. p g Bidders Proof of Responsibility must be submitted to Issuing Office in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders will be required to provide performance and payment bonds of 100 percent of bid amount. This Contract is expected to be funded in part with funds provided by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Safe Drinking Water Loan Program (SDWLP). Information on applicable federal requirements is contained in the Project Manual. Use of American Iron & Steel: Projects financed in whole or in part by the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program are required to use American iron and steel. Bid proposals may be denied if the requirements of this Section are not met. The successful bidder will be required to conform to the wage requirements prescribed by the federal Davis-Bacon and Related Acts which requires that all laborers and mechanics employed by contractors and sub -contractors performing on contracts fundp g ed in whole or in part with federal funds in excess of $2,000 pay their laborers and mechanics not less than the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits, as determined by the Secretary of Labor, for corresponding classes of laborers and mechanics employed on similar projects in the area. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under contract. If the requirements of Davis Bacon, the State of Wisconsin and the Contract requirements conflict with regard to wages, the highest of the three shall apply.
