Renovation of a mixed-use development in Norfolk, Virginia. Working plans call for the renovation of a 13,365-square-foot educational facility.

Shortlist Confirmed. Old Dominion University is seeking to pre-qualify construction Contractor's construction renovations at its Cafe' 1201 venue located in the University's WEBB University Center, as described in the attached RFQ document. In general, the minimum qualification criteria for interested Contractor's is as follows: 1. Bonding: Contractor must secure bonding for this project in an amount equal to or greater than the amount established by the agency from a surety company (1) listed in the United States Department of Treasury, Federal Register, Circular 570: Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies; and (2) licensed to transact surety business in the Commonwealth of Virginia. 2. Project Description: Phased construction/renovations of existing dining facility and catering kitchen areas in an occupied building, 13,365 SF, consisting of catering kitchen areas, equipment for same, applicable exhaust systems, fire protection, electrical and mechanical systems. The project is generally described as renovation to Cafe 1201 and catering Kitchen, comprised of approximately 13,200 square feet of contiguous space located within Webb Student Center. The renovation will provide space to support the dining component of the student center, including the renovation of the catering kitchen, design and installation of four (4) new food concepts and dining space to the building. The project renovation scope will generally provide for complete renovation of the interior spaces and upgrades and reconfiguration of building systems and components including HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm and detection, fire suppression and food service. The renovation work will be a Level 2 renovation per Section 504 of the Virginia Rehabilitation Code, and includes demolition of existing finishes and fixtures, capping of utilities, reconfiguration of space, and a complete replacement of finishes, new equipment, and new power, lighting, plumbing, and modifications to HVAC.
