Renovation of an educational facility in Statesboro, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The full amount of deposit for one set will be refunded to each general contractor who submits a bona fide bid upon return of such set in good condition within 30 days after date of opening of bids. All other deposits will be refunded with deductions approximating cost of reproduction of documents upon return of same in good condition within 30 days after date of opening bids. Contract, if awarded, will be on lump sum basis. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 35 days after time has been called on the date of opening. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond and in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid. Both performance bond and a payment bond will be required in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price, and executed by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the Department of Treasury Circular 570, latest edition. The Surety Company shall have an A.M. Best Company minimum rating of "A" with a financial size of VII "7" or better. Bonds must be accompanied by letter stating bonding company's current rating for verification prior to acceptance by the Owner and execution of the formal Owner/Contractor agreement.
