Saving Project...

Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Grass Valley, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

This project is to be located on the site of the WWTP in the City of Grass Valley. The City of Grass Valley is located in the central/western portion of Nevada County, California, approximately 30 miles east of Marysville and about 20 miles north of Auburn. Grass Valley is a historic gold mining town which incorporated as a Charter City in 1893. As western Nevada County's economic hub, the City provides a full range of services including police, fire, water and wastewater treatment, and other typical public services to over 13,000 residents in a five square mile area. The City of Grass Valley owns and operates a sewer collection system and wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) serving the needs of the people and businesses located in the City. The WWTP is controlled and operated through a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. The current SCADA system is out dated and impedes effective and efficient operation of the facility, creating a facility permit compliance vulnerability. Additionally, the WWTP requires upgrades to its asset management software and improvements to its septage receiving station. The City recently accepted proposals for Design-Build services as part of the City's 2018 WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT. The project will design, engineer and construct upgrades to the WWTP's SCADA system; provide new software, data migration and populate asset management software; and design, engineer and construct a septage receiving and debris receiving station at the WWTP. The City is close to finalizing a contract for these Design-Build services. The Design-Build and construction project is estimated to take 200 working days to complete, not including any winter suspension. The Consultant (Construction Manager/Resident Engineer) is expected to provide the necessary construction management services for the duration of the City's 2018 WWTP Improvements Project. Throughout the duration of the Project, the Consultant shall regularly meet with City's Project Manager, City Inspector and City staff to provide necessary updates and seek input as needed to implement the work. The expectation is that the construction manager is competent, experienced, and knowledgeable within the wastewater industry and in construction management. It is preferred that the Construction Manager is a licensed engineer or that the Consultant retains a qualified Professional Engineer on staff as necessary. The job expectation is that this is a part-time position that will typically be 20 hours per week during construction periods and perhaps vary from 0 to 40 hours a week. The selected Consultant shall thoroughly review existing bid documents to become familiar with the Project. start construction no later than the estimated date of June 30, 2018; The Completion of Construction date is hereby established as September 30, 2020
